This month, it is a most happy one for me, Ramón the Mink of Love! For this month, I have been on the World Wide Web for two years! I cannot believe it. It seems only yesterday that I was a humble, Loving, svelte mink who yet knew nothing about computers. Now, through modern technology, hundreds of people have come here and read my Advice and my Philosophies! I could not be a happier mink.
This month, I thought I would be doing something a little different. I will be teaching you about the art appreciation. Now, there are those who say that I desire nothing more than Physical Passion and all its Glories. But I tell you, this is not true. Like any other cultured mustelid, I enjoy visiting the local museums, wandering among the fine paintings and sculptures, and contemplating the deeper messages that the artists have intended. And I swear to you, it is less than half of these works to which I am Making Love.
Some of the most beautiful, provocative art is that which has been around for millennia. The Greeks and Romans, they appreciated the sensuality of the statue of hard, living marble. I can gaze for hours at the beautiful naked forms. Indeed, I feel that these statues are living proof that the ancients were much more Enlightened in the Ways of Love than we of the modern era. After all, these days you are not seeing many statues of nude men cavorting gaily in the places of worship. And yet in ancient Greece, no temple was without these hard, frenzied men! Unfortunately, many of them have lost crucial limbs and other manly bits due to the ravaging of time. We are forced to use our imaginations to picture how these people might have looked. I, Ramón the Mink of Love, would like to be thinking that they were beautiful, aroused specimens of masculinity with the faces frozen in permanent expressions of Hedonistic Lust! It is a great loss that we will never be knowing for sure.
Another of the favorite types of art of I, Ramón the Mink of Love, are the paintings of the Renaissance. Renaissance is meaning "rebirth," and this is truly the time that the Desire was reborn. Many of the works of the time are so obviously the works of true Masters of Lechery. The naked women, they abound during this time! So many paintings are of the Frolics and the Bacchanalian Festivals, wherein the goddesses and satyrs and nymphs would Cavort and Fondle all within reach. But one of my favorites is not of the naked woman. Indeed, she is appearing clothed. Leonardo's Mona Lisa is remaining forever a favorite of all, for the enigmatic smile which she is wearing. I look at that smile, and I think, it is a smile I have seen many times before. I do not think it is coincidence that you cannot be seeing below her waist. Perhaps, what Leonardo is not showing, is that there is a Salacious, fluffy mink coupled there with her. I quiver at the thought!
And yet, as is typical, the modern era has become antithetical to a simple Lover such as myself. In the realm of paintings, I look at the cubism and the modernism and the pointillism and the impressionism, and I ask myself, why? These people, they have stolen the Lust from the painting! And the more tactile arts, they are even worse. What are these beams and colored bits of glass? They cannot be matching the sensuousness of a well formed pectoral or inner thigh! It is as if modern artists, they are no longer understanding the art. I weep for this tragedy!
And so, humble mink that I am, I must be contenting myself to live in the past. This summer, I am fulfilling a dream which I have long wanted to fulfill. I, Ramón the Mink of Love, will be traveling to Italy. There, as an Ambassador of Love, I will be inspecting and Sharing my Passion with the many works of art, until I am reaching my ultimate goal. I will swear to you now, I will Find, Seduce, and Utterly Satisfy Michelangelo's David. I will Tease him and Taunt him, Play with him and Pet him, until we both sleep soundly in each other's arms. It shall be rapture! And just perhaps, all those who are Enjoying art too, they can be joining us. I cannot wait. The art, it truly brings out the Lover in each creature. ♥
