What is the Love? Love is that most sublime of all the feelings. It is the contentment of a mother suckling her child. It is the caress of a lover in bed. It is the moment of the shrieking climax when you merge with another living creature. Who can deny such basic pleasures? And yet who can say that such feelings do not propel us into the higher plane of Being? Without the Love, there is no life.
And yet there are those who say that the Love is a dead art. We have most certainly seen a decline in the Love in popular culture. Why will Hollywood not explore the mysteries of Desire? All the films today, they are filled with the blood and the gore and the violence! People have become more ashamed of their bodies, no longer willing to romp and play as naked as they were created. They feel they must hide themselves behind many layers of baggy clothing. Instead of the natural bliss that comes with Love, people fill their bodies with these drugs and needles and booze. It is as if they do not want Love, but want to escape from it. Indeed, people live in fear of Love. In some places the Loving in public is even thought to be a crime! This criminalization, it cannot stand.
At the same time, the technology has advanced greatly. This World Wide Web, it was barely even imagined of just a short while ago! But I have been shocked at the quality of the material on line. It is either all so cheap and degrading, or it is dry and clinical and scientific. Where is the Love? Where is the Yearning?
